Problem with identity reoccurs

Problem with identity reoccurs
Wed, 16 Apr 2008 14:57:03 -070
Last week Bruce and Pa suggested I change identity to fix a problem where
longer mesdsages could not be sent out.
This worked. Thanking them.
Since then I have had to do it two more times as messages would again not go
out with existing identity.
My question is what could be damaging identity? My new and e-mail folders
are small, I run spysweeps and virus checkers routinly. This is a large pain
moving addresses, mail and especially newsgroups to new id.

If you use Norton or McAfee, get rid of them.

I would suggest either Avast, (freeware), or NOD32, (not free).

In the case of Avast, choose Custom Installation and under Resident
Protection, uncheck: Internet Mail and Outlook/Exchange.

Avast:

NOD32:

You may have hijackware on your machine as well.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use. It
will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware *with
assistance from an expert in such matters*.

Just wanted to say I am working thru the sites as little time permits.
FYI I am using Avast with all outgoing mail checking turned off.
Previously installed without problem for many months. Routinely run and just
ran both Spybot and AdAware and all they found was my cookies. Will advise
if I find cause.
