Welcome to the AnnexCafe Paint Shop Pro Tutorials Newsgroup
      Guideline & FAQS

We are a friendly group of PSP users of varying skills levels who help
each other out with the ins and outs of this great program. As you visit us,
you'll see many familiar names pop in from other sites and resources you already
visit.

This group started out as a place to post tutorial links but has evolved
into a more complex group of talented individuals. No one person has been
assigned to keep track of every PSP tutorial ever written and our hats go off to
those who have tried...a very time consuming ordeal for any one person.

The authors and their related sites listed in this document are regular
contributors to this group either as writers, helpers, and testers. It is not
our intention to leave anyone out for any assumed personal reason.

Note: We do not condone tutorial theft, the distribution of WAREZ, or
giving out registration codes for commercial software.

About AnnexCafe copyright issues: If you are posting the results of a
tutorial that you have done, please make certain that the artist(s) work you are
using is either from the honored artists group and that you have identified the
graphics used appropriately per the artist(s) terms. Clickable link below:

        PSP Tutorial Sharing Guidelines

Have you recently stumbled across a really cool PSP tutorial and
want to share the link with other PSP enthusiasts and/or want to show off your
results of that tutorial?
           1. Before you post the link to any tutorial, make certain that the
author has not prohibited the sharing of links. This info should be listed on a
Terms of Service page or on the specific page. Please respect the author's
wishes as many great sites have already been taken down due to tutorial theft or
a host of other reasons.
           2. Instead of just stating "Here's my results from Jan's framing
tutorial", if not prohibited, please include the link to the tutorial.
AnnexCafe does maintenance from time to time and old messages containing the
link may get wiped out.
           3. If you are using Outlook Express, DO NOT use the "New Message
using Web Page" feature in order to share the link. (If it's your own
website, you may do this if you so choose).
           4. Post your completed image in GIF, JPG or PNG format (not .psp
format). You can either embed or attach your completed image.
           5. Even though this is not a stationery group, we don't mind the
occasional posting of stationery here. After all, some of the tutorials are for
creating stationery. However, if your stationery is heavily scripted, uses
Scrippy, pop-ups, etc, as a courtesy, please include this info in the subject
line.
           6. Remember that no one person is here 24/7 so if your request for
help of whatever sort doesn't get answered immediately, give it some time.
Should your query still get no response, repost your query with a polite message
that you are re-posting your query. You'll get a lot better and nicer responses
than if you whine that no one responded to your post.
           7. Off topic posts are allowed. Please try to remember to put OT at
the beginning of your post.

            Tutorial Searches

Are you looking for a specific tutorial and all other searches have
failed?
We can help you find it if you can post as much as you can
remember about the tutorial...i.e. the author's name or nickname, image that
you may have created based on that tutorial. HTML and binaries are allowed in
this group.
If you don't know of a specific tutorial, but have in mind what
you would like to do or an effect you would like to achieve, post an example
image or a link where you have seen this done. We can then help you locate a
tutorial OR someone might even write one for you.

            Tutorial Help

Have you gotten stumped trying to complete a tutorial and are about
to trash your efforts?
We've all been there. Whether the problem is because the tutorial was
written for an earlier version of PSP, poorly written instructions, or maybe the
instructions just don't make any sense to you, someone in here can help you by
either clarifying instructions or providing you with a workaround.
If you merely state, "I'm trying to do Jan's framing tutorial
and I just can't get step 6 to work," unless someone else has just recently
done that tutorial, we can't help you. Unless the author disallows link sharing,
please include the link to the tutorial so we can see what you are stumbling
over.

            Tutorial Writers

Have you written a new tutorial and want testers before you go
public with your new tutorial?
Feel free to recruit testers here. You can either post the link to
your newest tutorial in the newsgroup or recruit volunteers that you will give
the link to via email. Either option is fine. If you choose to go the email
route, you may want to ask your testers to refrain from posting their creations
to the newsgroup until you are ready to publicly post your new tutorial.
Note to testers: When you are posting your results of a tutorial,
please include the link to the tutorial unless requested otherwise by the author
so that when newcomers scan the group, they won't have to hunt for the new
tutorial.

If you are merely announcing a new tutorial you have written, it's
often a good idea to post an image showing the completed result of your new
tutorial.

Marian just checked in here and thought you might like to know Sweet and
Low's tutorials no longer exist anywhere on the net since I pulled down all
my sites. If any of my tutorials are out there it's done without my
permission.
