Kodak PCD File

I have a CD Kodak made for me in 1997 containing some slides I shot decades ago
in Africa. I find that on Photoshop Elements 6 I cannot open those files. Is
there a way to solve this problem, or has Adobe decided to render the Kodak
formula obsolete?

Here is a link to a Kodak web page.

I suspect that this is the photo format that you have. Despite the fact that it
says that Kodak has discontinued support, there are some links on that page that
might help you.

If you have an older version of Photoshop Elements, I would think that opening
your photos and saving them in a different format (perhaps TIFF) would be the
most practical course of action.

Blair,

Assuming you are on Windows (98 through Vista) the free Irfanview lists PCD as
one of its supported formats. It should easily convert to a usable standard.

Be sure to download and install the plugins, too.
