PSE 2 will not start on Mac

wanted to post to a PS Elements 2 forum but there's no Add Topic displayed
anywhere.

So, I've come here instead.

I have PSE 2 on my Mac but the other day it wouldn't start. I upgraded from 10.3
to 10.5 recently. Is PSE 2 incompatible with 10.5?

Before you give me the "PSE 2 is real old" lecture, I now have PS CS2
on my PC laptop and do my real image work there so the PSE version on the Mac is
only used these days to view images (better than Preview).

Thanks so much for both the info on PSE 2 and Leopard and on Preview.

Since I have PS CS2 on my PC laptop I'll just stop using PSE on the Mac. I may
drop IrfanView on just for those infrequent times when moving the file to the PC
for simple editing isn't worth it.
