QP8 Data Link to QPX3?

QP8 Data Link to QPX3?

I use QP8 for producing commodity trading signals. They are incorporated in
a QP8 candlestick chart. QP in X3 version no longer has this
capability(adding data series to Hi/Lo charts). Superimposing manually
drawn lines, boxes, etc. over such charts is also far superior in QP8.

Sooooo, need to import X3 data series into 'ol reliable Q8 in the most
elegant means available (Datalink being most elegant and
"copy>paste" being
the least). Q8 Datalink fails to recognize QX3 files.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried saving the QP X3 file as a QPW file?

That would be an extra step and counter to my need for greater automation.
Besides, my .QPW file is at 29,900 rows and growing. .wb3 likely would fail
at ~10,000 rows.

I'm reading up on alternative data exchanges within QP. The DDE macros such
as look promising. Also giving a look to the QP8 Database
Desktop but is all new to me. Neccessity is the Mother of Invention and
thank God & Corel I don't have to invent it...just learn it.

Would like to hear from anyone doing DDE or large databases with QP and can
offer any tips.

Rather more than 10K, I think. My QP9 Help has just broken, so I cannot check.

However: it might well be easier to simply copy the relevant data from X3 to 8.
