Number as text

Number as text
Tue, 15 Jan 2008 10:31:31 -080
I need to enter a number (2007) in a cell but don't want it to be included
in a sum of cells that include that cell.
I tried changing to "text" but it still gets added to the totaling
cell. Is
there a command that will make that cell not look like a number?
Thanks

Tried that. Doesn't work. It does take it out of the sum but prints as
2007".
Try it.
Any better solution?

Single quote in front works!
I was putting one in front & end.

Thank you for your helpful reply

Try putting quotes around it.
