| Error 1334 |
 |
Fri, 1 Feb 2008 11:54:29 -0700 |
I am running Quatropro X3 with XP pro sp2. This started a couple of weeks
ago, and I have not been able to find any reference or solution to this in
the knowledge base. Any help would be appreciated.
Everytime I launch the program, windows installer pops up, with preparing to
install. I then get the attached error 1334 message.
Thanks in advance

No luck. The leftshift lets me reset the workspace, but once that window
disappears, the installer is starting up in the background. I can hit
cancel and it exits the installer, but immediately starts it again. Hitting
cancel the second time exits the installer and allows me to use the program.
Tried running the repair through the control panel, but it stops with
another 1334 installer error, with reference to file: wpidintl.dll that
can't be found in QPChart.cab
I will have to bring my disks in next week and try to run a repair from the
cd.

This relates, though I think you will not be pleased:

You might first try these 2 ideas:
You can try holding down [LeftShift] as QP launches.
Answer [Yes] to the MessageBox that appears.
If no MessageBox does appear, you were too slow or too brief in holding down
the key.
This resets the workspace to the default, and so may remove some corruption.
You do lose all customization of toolbars &c.
=====
You could try a Repair:
Close down all Corel apps. Have your CD in the drive. If it auto-runs, click
Exit.
Disable any anti-virus software.
Locate the .msi file in the root directory of the CD.
Right-click on that file, and select Repair.
Or you may be able to access the Repair function through
Control_Panel|Add/Remove_Programs, select your WP version, Change, and choose
(x)Repair.
In v11 and later you cannot instruct Repair to ignore items - if they are not
selected, they are removed.
Break for coffee.

Of course the installation should not be starting at all.
There have been cases where the program cannot find a file. Then copying
from the CD fixes things. But this is not the same at all.
Stand by for better ideas.
It seems likely to me that something is seriously munged.
If so, I would be thinking of using
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=295823
I find also
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
which appears to lead to the same file, does not cause confusion by
referring at length to M$ Office products, and confirms compatibility with
Win95 through WinVista.
Run it, select the app whose installer details you need to remove, and hit
the Go button.
Remove all QPX3 folders (including under C:\D&S\user...) and Registry
entries - a Registry Cleaner might be your friend here.
Then reinstall afresh.
But: fingers crossed, and stand by in hope of better ideas.

Daphne,
Do you have the 24 WordPerfect font files on your PC? These are files
named WPxxxxxx.TTF.
Try deleting these 24 files to the Recycle bin, wait a minute, and then
restore them to Windows.
This suggestion is because the file specified in your screen print was
one of these 24 font files.
