| Setting the boundaries for permanent view |

I am trying to modify the view selections for a spreadsheet so that as I pan
across the sheet more columns of labels remain visible permanently along the
left margin, to reference the rows. Currently, I only have the first column
of the sheet which remains visible. It would be much more helpful if I could
have the first 4 columns visible.
I would also like to know how to move the threshold down at the top of the
sheet so that more rows remain visible as I browse down through the sheet. I
now have 3 showing. I likely set up the sheet from an old template and have
forgotten how to make this modification. Could be terminology, but I can
neither find anything relevant in the Help Index, nor any of the drop-down
menus.
Thanks for any suggestions and help.

John,
Click in the top left cell which is _not_ to be locked -- eg cell E4 in
your example. Then do View, Locked Titles.
