Printing Spreadsheets

Printing Spreadsheets
Wed, 18 Jul 2007 10:14:09 -070
I use QP 10, but its same as 11 here. I have printed spreadsheets by blocks
for years, (about standard 8X 10 pages) and now even my old sheets print in
little tiny picures at the top. NOT the whole page as they always have. I
have changed NOTHING. Any way to res (like when I select teh WHOLE
spreadsheet). et sometehing to get back my printouts?

I don't use the newsgroup very often; so may not know all the protocol.
Just a frustrated home user.

Than you,

Bill Brook, SAn DIego

After File|Page Setup, there is a Scaling Tab. This might enable the effect you

report. It would show up in Print Preview.

The printer driver may have a similar option.

Roy: AM sending to Group, since you mail address did not take.

ROY:

THANKS for the fast reply (and from such a distance!). I had a feeling it
would be YOU; since you have saved my bacon several times in the past. Your
info on the 'scaling tab' was correct. But I don't have a clue as to WHY
things are as they are. I am now suspecting a VIRUS or TROJAN HORSE that
infects QP files. (Ever hear of such a thing?). I have about 40 QP
spreadsheets covering 5-6 years. ALL are essentially the SAME file, with
minor modifications. These are for TAX data, etc. I have never changed any
settings (did not even know the scaling button existed). I have always
selected the "print by CELL block" option. Smaller selections have
always
printed full size; those larger than a standard 'page' have been
"squeezed"
into page size by decreasing the sizes of cells and fonts (automatically).
Earlier versions of QP called this selection "PRINT TO FIT".

ALL files have printed perfectly for years. They exist on TWO computers
(home network). NOW: EVERY one of these files has the selection set to the
page button with "1" and "1' set in. A ONE INCH page! ANOTHER
strange thing;
selecting DEFAULT (what I assume I have ALWAYS used), brings up 100% in ONE
machine, but the lower button with the ONE by ONE page for the OTHER
machine. Go figure! IMpossibe!.

There is ANOTHER BAD event with selecting default or 100%. THAT brings in
bright blue 'soft page breaks". This is a blue line all the way around the
spreadsheet as a whole, PLUS many VERTICAL blue lines (no horizontal
breaks). These lines completely destroy the spreadsheet, cutting right thru
data cells, and destroying pie charts. There seems to be NO way to remove
these (none shown in the manual or help file).. I can remove HARD page
breaks, but not SOFT breaks. A REAL mess!

Why this strange happening, and HOW it got to EVERY FILE opened (some not
opened for years).... is baffling and well beyond my experience level.
Should I just DELETE QP-10, and RE-install? I still have the CD. Would have
to search for updates.

Appreciate the help.

Thank you,

Bill Brook, San Diego, USA

We prefer that.

Possible, though unlikely

You find a Shrink option on that same Tab.

Likely, you chose in the Print Dialog [Save Settings].

Check the Paper Size in Page Setup.

Unlikely to help.

BTW: this is the QP11 group. There is a quattropro_older_versions group.
