| Date function |

I have used my Word Perfect Office with Windows ME and Windows 98 and have
had no problems (that I haven't been able to work out). I got a new computer
with Windows XP and am having a few problems.
I write in a cell "07/12/07" and when I enter, it changes to
12/30/1899 and
the input bar at the top displays +7/12/7. That is with the cell formatting
set for short date.
I tried using data input constrant of "date only" but get the flag
"invalid
date or time".
I can copy/paste any input that I have from previous to XP without problem,
but if I try to change anything in it, it reverts to the above.
I found that I can use - instead of / and it returns the desired function,
but it is frustrating that I have to use an unconventional method to get
conventional results.

David,
Before someone with a greater expertise than I replies, might I suggest
that you check your international settings (control panel). It is
possible that when you bought your new computer your XP was configured
with a date format different from what you are used to and, therefore,
WP and Quattro Pro will see your input as a formula, not as a date.

Try this:
Tools|Settings|maybe: Application|General|UNcheck
[]Mathematical Formula Entry|[OK]
