| Slow Printing With Borders & Headers Plus the Open File Dialog |
 |

I have been living with the slow printing of Quattro for some time now.
Can anything be done to speed up the process? I have to use cells
borders and headers, and that seems to cause the slow down. My sheets
are over a hundred pages now, and it get very tiring waiting for a print
job that takes almost a day.
The problem was there in Quattro 8 & 9 as well. I am currently running
Quattro 12 under XP Pro with 1 gb ram, and lots of hard drive space.
While I am ranting, the open file dialog doesn't seem to remember where
my Quattro Data files are. It makes no difference where I point the
folders to, it always opens in the Quattro home directory.
Any help with these 2 issues would be appreciated.
Thanks,
- Tim -

[His OS is XP Pro, as stated.]
I'd be curious about the design of the sheets. This type of delay could
be caused by the large file having to recalculate itself as each page is
printed. Don't know, just a guess. Have you tried turning off auto recalc?
Might need to check the print settings, including spoolers. And yes,
what printer? Is it networked? Do you have the latest driver for XP?
Whatever, it's not normal as the computer seems more than adequate.

TVM. I should just stay in bed until this bug is defeated.
(Must have something to blame.)
