When I click on "Help" on the menu bar, and follow that up by clicking
on
"Help Topics" I get the following message:
"Cannot find the qp12en.hlp file. Do you want to try to find this file
yourself?"
And I then browse to my help file (which is on the e: drive, not the
default, because that is where I have room).
My question is, I read in a knowledge base article that Quattro Pro was
supposed to remember where my Help file was after this, but it does not. Do
I need to change something in the registry?
Thank you,

Try putting it in, C:\Program Files\WordPerfect Office 12\Shared\Help.

Try:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COREL\QuattroPro\12\Location of Help Files\EN\
However: it seems likely that QP "remembers" the location using the
same key.
So there may be a permissions issue here.
My location (from that key) is:
"Help File"="E:\\Program Files\\WordPerfect Office
12\\Shared\\Help\\QP12EN.HLP>topics"
and I have only ever seen that message once or twice.
ISTR it popped up more often under Win98SE.

Are you, perchance, using Vista? I seem to recall that Vista needs a
'patch' to utilize 'old' help files. The 'patch' is available from MS.
