| Interesting observation re Saving QPW file as XLS file |

I wanted to send someone a QP spreadsheet I had created, but that person did
not have QP on his machine. So I saved the file as an Excel file, from the
QP choices.
To check it out, since I don't have Excel on my main machine, I opened the
file in the MS Excel reader, which I had installed via the MS site, which
offers readers for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
When the file opened, it was totally devoid of any of the formating,
including number and date styles I had used in QP. So, I decided to use
another machine I have, which does have MS Office Pro installed on it, to
try and fix the file up. Imagine my surprise when I opened the XLS file I
had created in QP. It was almost perfectly formatted, with only one or two
small areas missing some easily adjusted formatting.
It's hard to understand why the official MS reader for XLS files gave such a
different view of that file.
But then again, I don't understand a lot of the things that MS does.
