The CELL lock setting is only provisional (like a lock on your door). To
activate the lock (turn the key), you need to "enable cell locking"
for the
SHEET, i.e., Ken's post was not a list of alternate methods but of simultaneous

conditions which must be satisfied in order for the lock to take effect.

Protecting cells

I have a block of cells in QP12 that I want to protect/lock, or whatever the
term may be.

I've searched through HELP, and I can find a small bit of info on
"protecting cells". But I can't find the path to do that.

I seem to recall that I have done this is in the distant past, on earlier
versions. But I cannot locate the path to do it now. I've searched through
all the menu items, et al, but I guess I just keep missing it

I'd like to select a cell block, and then lock all entries in all cells in
that block, so that no one can change anything in them, without actually
going through an unlock procedure first.

Where is that activity located in QP 12?

I know I can do that in a WP table - I've used it many times.

I shosld have added that I went into cell properties, and did find the
protect window, and clicked on "protect" and "general".

But that didn't seem to do anything, as afterwards, I could delete, change
or whatever to any cell in the selected block.

Hi Uli,

Thanks -

Aha, that's the solution. Good analogy. I had the lock installed, but I then
had to activate the lock.

QP help was not too helpful for this situation.

Thanks again -

Ron
