QP12 shutdown

QP12 shutdown
Mon, 03 Mar 2008 11:28:59 -080
I am working with a chart in QP12 .602. WinXP2 When I attempt to
change the Series Properties, Type Options, Marker...the program gives
the "QP12 Loader has encountered a problem" message [AppName: qpw.exe

AppVer: 12.0.0.602 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000004e.]
Is there a fix for this?

Thanks Roy; I'll give your suggestion a try... hope it works.

Roy:

After trying all the suggestions and having nothing work, I saved the
..qpw as a .wb3 and worked using QP8.... immediate work problem solved!

But I still don't have any idea as to why QP12 won't work with my simple
3-series charts. FWIW, there is a significant difference between the
file sizes in QP8 (402kb) and QP12 (45kb). Does this mean anything to you?

That does not usually happen. So it seems likely that the file is
corrupt. The first recovery option that QP offers destroys Objects, which
would include your chart, and any other Objects.

You could try in a new blank Notebook: Insert|File...

Please check the newsgroup
quattropro-faq
where there is a summary of ways to attempt to recover corrupt files.

You could rename a copy of the file, open the file, delete the chart,
save the file, Save As e.g: Excel, which makes QP rebuild its internal
data, rename the qpw version, Open the Excel version and Save as qpw, and
then recreate the Chart. The round trip is likely to lose formatting etc.

No guarantees.

Roy:
No, it was started as a .qpw.
