| Check box font problem |

I have an issue with one pc running QP12 version 12.0.0.602.
I have a spread sheet with a macro that calls a dialog box with check boxes.
The font on the check boxes comes up as Marlet and not Arial. This spread
sheet works fine on all of my pc's running the same version. I'm stumped.
I've tried importing good versions of the file, updates from corel, etc.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Interesting. That font (Marlett) happens to produce checkbox-related characters
(check marks, check boxes, etc.) when you type lower case letters. It appears
that QP uses the Marlett font to draw the check box feature, but (in your case)
it then fails to flip the font back to Arial for the associated label.
One workaround would be to erase the check box's own label and place an
independent label over that position.
For the problem (as it presents itself) to be consistent, the PC displaying
those check boxes with the wrong font should then also display ANY check box
incorrectly -- i.e., what happens if (on the problem PC) you create a new dialog
box with a new check box in the same notebook, and alternatively, in a new
notebook?
Cheers,
Uli

In a somewhat unrelated matter (relating to a recent post in the "older
versions" forum about the restricted availability of a desired check mark
symbol), it appears that the Marlett font provides a fully capable alternative
to the boldface check mark symbol available in the WP IconicSymbolsA font, with
the important difference that the Marlett font does not suffer from the WP font
issue in QP versions later than 8.
FWIW,
Uli

Looks like there's a font missing on the problem PC. I once found a similar
problem, though here the substitution of Marlett seems odd.
I never found which font's removal was responsible - I reinstalled those I had
just deleted and all was well.
A corrupt font might have the same effect.

Neat tip! - I see that a and b both produce the checkmark.
Strange that Marlett shows up, when Windows tries to hide it.
