| Shortcut Key for selection properties |

Once again, QP 12 has acted like a "spoiled brat" when it comes to
working
with toolbars and menu commands.
Normally, the F12 key brings up selection properties. Somehow that got
changed, and now brings up the print screen that CTRL+P also brings up.
I went into the toolbar settings, and clicked on "reset all" for the
shortcut keys, and now "F12" shows as the key for "selection
properties".
The key for FILE>PRINT shows as "CTRL+P".
Well, CTRL+P does bring up the print screen, but so does F12. F12 still
shows as the shortcut key for "selection properties".
Any suggestions on what to do to restore the F12 key to properly bring up
"selection properties"?

You may have that key reassigned to a toolbar button. The only way that
I know to restore the original settings for sure is to hold the left
shift key and open qp. Choose to replace the workspace. You may want
to first export your current workspace and save the toolbars and menus.

Hi Ken,
The shortcut key for "selection properties" shows as F12 in the
configuration dialog boxes. Restting things to "default" makes no
difference
Furthermore, I backup and archrive all the customization files in Office 12,
and from what I can see, the file containing the custom key info is
QP_EN_ShortCutKeys.cfg
So I restored an older copy of that to replace the current, and presumably
changed file.
There was no difference - F12 still brings up the printer dialog box
produced by CTRL+P.
Is this cfg file not the proper one to fix this?
This problem is obviously not a serious problem - just a nuisance one. But
it is typical of the always present idiosyncracies (a polite term) in QP,
and the lack of attention that Corel pays to QP.
I can just create a simple macro, and put an icon in the toolbar to bring up
the "selection properties".
I have very elaborate toolbars et al, and revert to the original barebones
toolbars et al, and then attempt to restore is not worth the effort. QP has
too many glitches that could result. And anyway, I have attemptede several
times to reset things form within QP, unsuccessfully. <sigh>

Ken,
Here's some new info
The F12 key on my keyboard has a label on it "Print". But in the past,
it
has brought up the "selection properties" window. And,m in other
programs,
it also brings up the print dialog box. It is usually the case the the
keyboard mapping key assignments take precedence.
I'm going to look into remapping that key, to remove the "Print"
command. I
can't imagine waht changed things???

My keyboard is the MS intellitype Pro keyboard.
I went into the keyboard software, but the F12 key cannot have the
"print"
command removed, so far as I can see.
For several years, it did bring up the "selection properties" window
in QP,
so I don't know what has changed.
>From all I can see in QP, F12 is the assigned key for that.
I'm weary of beating a dead horse. I'll just create a workaround.
