You're looking for a file named QPW0000.TMP, QPW0001.TMP, etc. To use
the file, you will have to rename it with a wb3 extension. The specific
location of the backup file is difficult to predict, so you might have
to perform a search on all relevant drives. I believe this backup file
is automatically deleted as soon as you exit QP. That leaves as the
most relevant recourse a File-Undelete utility (i.e., something that
goes beyond the capabilities of the Recycle Bin) to locate (and restore)
this mysterious file.
Note: QP promises in its help file: "If you exit Corel Quattro Pro
unexpectedly with Auto-backup activated, you will be prompted to recover
any open files the next time you start Corel Quattro Pro." I don't know
if this actually works as advertised. My recommendation is to take this
step as a last resort, i.e., try your own file search/restore procedure
first, before relying on QP to untie the knot for you.
Good luck,
Uli

I am using Quattro Pro 8 and my default folder is a mapped network drive.
Can anyone tell me where the autosave files are written? I am desperate to
find one, because I accidentally closed the original without saving it - but
I just cannot find the backup file!
Help!!
