Hi, QP users,
My son has a science proiject, he's testing how long different branks of
batteries last. He's using a flashlight andmeasuring the light output over
time.
We want to use QP to make a chart, where one axis is the light output
measured in number of footcandles and the other axis is time.
How do we do that?
thanks

Sorry, I don't quite understand. I see that I can make columns for the
different intervals of time, but when I try to make a chart QP puts the time
column in the chart as well. It tre the time column as data.
Could I send you the spreadsheet? It's very small.
thanks

I think that you are recording light output at intervals from some start
time.
If so: enter your intervals in one row or column, something like
0 | 5 | 10 | 15 | 20 . . .
You can enter the first two values, select including them to the last
Cell needed, and tap Ctrl-Shift-L.
Enter your reading in the adjacent row or column.
Save.
Repeat for as many batteries as you test.
That gives you a data block that QP can show as a Chart.
For creating an Chart:
please check in Help|Topics for something like (varies with version):
Index Tab: charts, basics
Contents Tab: Presenting spreadsheet data in a chart.
Please reply with questions if you find difficulty.

Tell it not to.
You have not stated your version of QP.
But in any version I know of you can click the Chart then right-click and
choose Series... (or similar).
There you can specify the X-Axis Series and one or more Y-Axis Series
(and more).
Alternatively, you can format the Time series BEFORE you enter the data as
Format|Selection|Constraints|Labels only.
Then when you create the Chart QP sees the data as text and automatically
assigns it to the X-Axis.
