Problem: When opening QP, a message pops up saying
"Loading of menu DIALOG.MMC impossible"; a number of options on
the task bar
are no longer available
>From Michael G Scott:
First, you could have installed a product that is messing with
the LANG
code in QP. Go to a DOS prompt, and type :
set > c:\set.txt
This will dump your environment variables into a text file
called
SET.TXT. Load that file in Notepad, and see if you have a line
starting:
LANG=
If so, reply with the entire line. It *needs* to be set to EN,
as in :
LANG=EN
If it isn't set to EN (assuming you are running QP English), you
could
also get that message.
Second, if you had an INTERNATIONAL version of QPW on your
machine, and
installed a US patch, you could have a US vs INTL string
conflict.
Remove QPW, reinstall it, then install the APPROPRIATE INTL
patch.
Also, the LIBRARY.UI file could be messed up. This file has a
*different* name depending on what INTL version you are using.
Search
your QPW directory for LIBR*.UI. If you find it, copy that file
from
your CD to replace it here.
