RMS Configuration Issues.

i deployed RMS in test environment using Microsoft STEP BY STEP guide which 
spancs not more than 19 pages.
Well, when i protect document in Word 2007 in WinXP SP2, i get the following 
error.
"THis services is temp. unavailable.Ensure that you have connectivty to
this 
server.
This error could be caused because you working offline.Your proxy settings 
are preventing your connection , or you are experiencing intermitted network 
issues."

I pasted following URLS to troubleshoot the issue, IE displays "Page Cannot

be displayed".

issue certificates to clients..is it necessary to setup private CA for RMS to 
work...

Which guide did you read ? 
Which OS do you use for RMS ? (2K3, 2K8? )

Can you ping your RMS server ?

i am running WIndows Server 2003...the guide is available on the following link

sometimes, i manage to assign permission to document...when i try to login 
with other account...the service fails with error i mentioned in ealier 
post.I can ping my RMS server...
i am deploying this scenario in virtual enviroment using Virtual PC 2007...i 
have read an article on discussion board that RMS can not installed+tested on 
Virtual Mahchines....is it true....????

RMS works with virtual PC 2007.

However I had the same error few weeks ago. 
The problem disapeared when I  increased the memory on my RMS server and DC.

DC: 512MB
RMS: 512MB

I think it's due to a timeout. The RMS server worked to slowly.

Maybe you have the same issue.

Completely different kind of certificates. A CA issues certificates based
on the X.509 standard, RMS issues certificates based on the xRML standard.
