Currently running SLES10 RC3. I need to set up Joomla for a proof of
concept for a client, but Joomla.org is sorely lacking in documentation.
(So what else is new?)
Anyone tried installing Joomla on SLES10 yet? What do I need to do? I
already have iFolder 3.5 running beautifully on this server. (The iFolder
gang knows documentation!)
Thanks,
Bryen

Runs fine on my SLES10 install. Just get the package, unzip it to your
root web directory, and browse to http://yourwebsite/installation. You
need a working MySQL server. All the instructions and documentation are
included in the package.
Here's the installation guide too:

Justin,
I hope you're paid for your work here!! Great Savior! I swear the sun
shone through the window just as I opened your post. And the weatherman
said no sun expected today.

Ok, dummy here...
I can't find the root of the web directory. Apache2 was installed via
YAST. I know it is up and running and working because I can use a browser
on it and I have iFolder running. But I'm clueless where the apache
stuff is installed.

/srv/www/ is where the HTML files are, put joomla in somewhere like
/srv/www/htdocs/joomla. Everything is relative to the htdocs directory.
The actual apache configs are in /etc/apache2. They use a modular layout
that is explained in the apache2.conf file. More info is also in
/usr/share/doc/packages/apache2
