| State of Linux Kernel Dump in SuSE 8.0 an SuSE 9.0 ES |

Hi All,
We have some linux servers at work which run SuSE 8.0 and SuSE 9.0. So far
the application folks are happy with performance. But.....
We are hampered with unexplained systeme crashes due to difficulty in
getting a kernel dumpon SuSE 8.0 and 9.0. The kernel dumping on Linux is
*unworkable* with through netdump or localdump. The only working
configuration seems to be localdump with memory sizes of 4GB or lower.
This only works on SuSE 8.0. On SuSE 9.0 nothing works *period*.
I was wondering how other users are handling setting up kernel dump on
SuSE 8.0/9.0 on topend hardware(Memory of 4GB and beyond).
Thanks,
