  I couldn't have said any of the above better than John just did.
Running it's the only way you will know for sure.

  Just a note though, Kevin does try to make things light on resources 
and from what I have heard, he and he alone wrote the new version.

That program *will* slow things down, if you use the HIP part, as will 
BOClean, if you have all the bells and whistles enabled.

My son has installed Comodo and recommends switching from Clean PC Mode 
to Safe Mode ASAP otherwise it gives a pass to existing trojans /malware 
/viruses. ZoneAlarm alerts would crash his online-full screen games but

Best advice is just to try it. Any slowdown is likely to be minimal, I 
think, and it's always going to be subjective anyway. Unless there are 
major demands being made on the processor, I doubt that the difference 
in speed will be significant.
