Anyone else finding Hotmail so slow as to be almost unusable? Started
yesterday afternoon, and I'm finding it takes at least ten minutes to
log in and get to my e-mail, if it even lets me in at all. And even
when I am in, it takes ages to open each e-mail. Sometimes what comes
up looks like a "low-res" text only version, other times it looks more
or less normal. Even when it does load, it doesn't load completely, and
the page will continue to keep trying to finish loading for literally
hours. That is through the web interface - Thunderbird is completely
out of the question as it times out every time. I have made no changes
whatsoever to my computer that could be causing this, and I scan clean
for virus, trojan or malware files. MSN.com was pretty well as slow
last night, but that seems a little better today, although not yet 100%.

Have you tried the web I/F from another computer? Neighbor, library, etc?
Might help determine if its the hotmail server or not. Pinpoint the problem
a bit better.

Yes, I normally use T-Bird as well. However, when it keeps timing out
on me then I go to the web interface. I'm wondering if they are perhaps
having problems with some of their servers, rather than the whole thing
being down. Wouldn't be the first time.

Yes, I tried it on my daughter's computer with the same results. I
couldn't even get to the login screen from hers. From mine, it just let
me log in a few minutes ago (after waiting for awhile) but then gave me
a "Connection was reset to the server" error message while I was
trying
to get into my Junk mail folder. I've even booted up the seldom used
IE7 to see if it was possibly a Firefox problem, but got exactly the
same results from IE7.

Everything just came through T-bird (after 27 hours!!). I tried the web
interface as well, and it let me in reasonably quickly. I'm thinking
the problem was on their end after all. Hopefully it will stay working
OK. Now I'm off to deal with 31 e-mails.
