I suppose you have tried the following ..
right clicked the toolbar to get the menu where it should have delete
or right click in taskbar and then click toolbars so you  can delete 
offending toolbar ...

Don't know about the reg entry but if you make the toolbar active (click on 
it) you can drag and drop it to any of the 4 sides of your desktop.

Hi , I have a side tool bar on Desktop....caused by slip of manipulating 
mouse .

I have had it before and 'cured' it with a registry fix.

Someone here last year put their finger upon it immediately , and posted a 
link.
I have googled it for an hour....and am taking a break.....anybody familiar 
with the registry entry ??
