Good news about SP3
Mon, 12 May 2008 22:41:18 +100
Well folks I installed WinXP SP3 this evening and it all went OK.

Mate of mine downloaded and burnt for me -
WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe - from MS.

It seems that trying to do the update via windowsupdate was a flop for
mate. The 316meg 'patch' is the way to go.

(Advise from OA Forum: If you using Online Armor then disable Program
Guard, and then reboot after restart with Training Mode enabled.)

Interesting! Last week, SP3 showed up in my "Update" list, but I
didn't
download or install it. This week it's gone! Guess M$ must have pulled
it till they get the bugs worked out.

I got it here ................

http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/winxpsp3-security.html
via
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/windows-xp-service-pack-3.html
via
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/index.html

worked for me.
also read if you want IE7 you should dl it and install first on SP2
I forgot and dl after installing SP3 and it did install
so far have not had any problems.
