Hello,
We are trying to Generate Physical Inventory tags and the process creates 0
tags in a certain company. Other companies in the same database are
generating normally. The customer counts inventory on a quarterly basis, and
this is a new company which has not been counted before.
I looked at the Knowledgebase articles and this is what we have checked:
1. 120 or so items have activity and have records in itemsite and location
2. Field Countstatus in tables itemsite, location, and loctable is set to A
on all records for this site/company.
3. There are no incomplete existing inventory counts. All prior counts are
marked as X or C status.
4. Some items are lot-ser tracked and some are not. I checked several and
none of the tracked items had a null assignment method.
5. I have reviewed the 'How to do a Physical Inventory' video and did nto
see any setup steps which could have been missed.
6. We did find one suspended IN batch in this company but releasing it made
no difference in the # tags generated by the process.
7. Although we are trying to do a full cound, we tried setting up a
physical cycle of 1, placing cycle 1 on all warehouse bin locations, and
generating tags by locations and cycle count id (vs full inventory count),
entering a cycle id of 1. This made no difference.
8. The event logs say nothing except start/end time and '0 tags created'.
What did I miss??
Thanks,
Laura B.

Please let me know how you were able to generate them...I am in the same
situation.

Hi,
Check ON the Tag Controlled Inventory option in Inventory Setup. I had
looked at this option, but when I read the help, it seemed related to how the
tags are numbered so at first I made no changes. However once we turned it
on, they generated like magic. When I turned it back off, again they would
not generate, so I know that is what solved it.
It still doesn't make sense, because IN Setup is shared between companies
when they are in a single database. All other companies in this database
were successfully generating with the option off. But turning it on did work
for the last company.
