Restore a SSave physical file...

A developer deleted a file (with 12 years of history) from Source Safe.  I 
recovered the entire database from tape.  After running SS PHYSICAL on both 
the current and recovered databases we know the file names of the original 
file in the recovered database and the place holder in the current one.  The 
names are different.  How can I remove the newly created placeholder file and 
reinstate the erroneously deleted one?

I tried placing the old one in the appropriate database\t directory and 
running SS ANALYZE -F -C -V4 but it didn't work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
