Would this be the result of a hacked machine?

Aside, for the last month, I've been getting 419 crap almost exclusively
with an occasional lonely woman thrown in.

Probably a hacked or socially engineered name/pw exploit on a mac.com 
account ...

I seem to get more lonely women than 419 stuff but maybe my filters are 
better at stopping the usual 419 spams ....

I don't believe my windoze install is patched for the date change that
was put in motion last year - I had to manually set my clock forward
yesterday.  I don't know if that makes a diff or not - if not, I'm
clueless as to what you are addressing.  I'm obviously not the UTC maven
