Coincidentally there is a blogspot entry about search spam. But anyway,
the redirect thing has been exploited for a long time, and Google
doesn't seem to care much about it. They made a warning screen that
tells you sometimes you're about to be redirected, but I don't know what
else they are doing. It's been said before that Google is run by the
bottom line, so if blogspot redirections not hurting their ca$h cow
stuff, then they won't do much ever.

Hi all

In waves I get massive numbers of spam mails advertizing blogspot.com uri's
being abused as redirector services.

In only 6 hours I got:

spamkiller:/etc/mail/spamassassin# grep BLOGSPOT /var/log/mail.log | wc -l
715

hits.

Some weeks ago these were reported to abuse@google.com, then there was a lable
that google does not accept spamcop reports anymore, now spamcop does not even
show abuse@google.com any more when I report such emails.

What happened there?

I also just subscribed to the blogspot help eGroup to see if anyone known why
blogspot apparently is not doing anything about spam.

Some discussion in the forums has pointed to some 'manual' reporting
options for Google spam/redirection and a degree of success resulting:
