Don't ever trust the workaround strategy of the goobers who devised a
method to prevent you from getting from here to there in the first
place.
The workaround is a trick**** -- they didn't want you to have access
(and they still don't). Get it?

If the subject is older word files inaccessible by the latest Office Vista
(is it called that?) I thought I had seen an article that that misfeature
had been disabled in the most recent patch kit. Perhaps in El Reg.
I don't run into it using office 2003 myself.

Hrm. Mike got me wondering... I wonder if Charles got a legit Windows
prompt, or was prompted by malware to open something up so that the
malware could be more viral.

OK, well, I solved the problem myself. But thanks for being so
understanding. I actually mean that - you're obviously not enamored with
the goobers either.
Anyway, I just changed my program so that I'm always zipping in the current
