Maps: Google gets some things surprisingly correct/accurate to a very
very fine granularity; and google gets some things wrong sorta grossly.
It is very worthwhile to see which way google sez to do something -- and
it is very wise to doublecheck things some other way.
Quite similar to the wikipedia in that regard -- and the internet in
general.

Maybe that's why we don't often read about trucks or larger sedans wedged
between garden walls in some neighbourhood on this continent?
Over in the UK Lorries wedged like that, or trapped in small village centers
are becoming a major irritant. Invariably the driver was following the GPS
suggested routing.

Could be the same reason that my car's nav system sometimes steers me in
really stupid directions to get me to my destination. For instance, the trip
from my house to my Dad's house in PA can be shortened by more than 5
minutes by getting off I-83N short of the I83-Rt 30 intersection and taking
a small side street directly to Rt 30. The road shows up on the map, but non
of the 4 diferent mapping modes ever picks that side street as an option.
Must be something in the algorithms that makes it ignore certain roads.
There are other places I go to that have the same problem, the nav system
doesn't recognize or "see" shortcuts for some reason.
