Size creep

So I sent my wife to buy me a bathing suit. No big deal. I've been a
medium all my life. Sure, I've gained 30ish pounds since high school, but,
hey, I'm still a medium. Right?

No. Medium... Used to fit a little tight. I'm kind of bummed that I
threw out my old Gap swimsuit - just for comparison sake. It was a medium
and it was WAY small for where I am now (33" around, if you really care).

But... She bought me one in medium. I couldn't keep it on (it fell off).
She returned it, went to a different store and bought me a medium. It
falls off. Whoa. Since when is a 35" waist a medium? Seriously? Used to

be 30-32". And, really, not all that long ago, darn it!

And, ha, the law says that you can't return a swimsuit! Cheeky bastards!
That means that manufacturers will never know that they're completely
fricking things up. Or maybe they're doing it on purpose - since you can't
return them. That way they get double the sales. Interesting thought.
Doesn't reflect very well on them, I think. I'll contact them and confront

Wait till they come out with the Short, Tall, Grande, and Venti sizes.

Right now I'm wearing an extra large golf shirt. It's the same size as
a small and a medium I have in the closet. All depends on where it's
made and what the locals figure is El Gordo. :)
