Happy New Year everyone!
This is an operating system problem that pops up now and then.
For no apparent reason when you open Superbase there can be a delay of five
or so seconds (with the egg timer showing).
Normally it will open immediately but once it slips into the delay, the pc
will always, from then on, have the delay. This happens with the RTS as well
on 98, XP, Server 20003.
I have tried, virus check, 16bit sub system fix, spybot, adaware, defrag,
cleanup, reboot, even checked Task Manager for rogue apps but to no avail.
Anyone know of a solution?
Regards
Ian

Default printer is a network one that is not visible at the point of
startup?
It's been known to cause this sort of thing..

Thanks Phil
Looking into it. Yes we have a default network printer that is sometimes not
on. I will run a few tests.

Yes this did resolve the problem. We have tested the issue on every platform
resulting in:
If a windows default printer is offline, superbase will pause whilst it
tryes to communicate with the printer and as it is offline, there is a
delay.
Solution: Check that the default printer is available or accept the delay.
Thanks for the solution.
Best regards
Ian
