| Vista, superbase and sharing... |

Hello ! (sorry for my English...)
Can be a resolution for problems of sharing under vista.
If superbase always open file in share 8 (exclusive) on your vista Station
set your config to : 'simple share' all rights and no password for dirs.LAN
local (not public) ( i don't now if it is absolutely essential but !)
remember you have to declare in sbxx.ini (windows dir) sblocal=none, disable
OPlocks etc....
here is the trap !
If your start superbase for the very first time without config .ini Superbase
create the file ' without sblocal=none'
no problem you think ? I can change parameters in .ini file. Yes you can, but
try this and verify in SB SuperBase.LocalFilesLocking
parameter ... allway = false
And now go to the dir : (special approval need)
Documents and settings\(your user
session)\appdata\local\virtualstore\windows\.....
and you find a copy of sbxx.ini ( for me sb30.ini, i use ver 3.6i). It seems
that this copy is never updated. So is the first version without sblocal=none
So change it yourself !
I have just discovered problem, I do not have all explanation.
If somebody can explain to me !
Vistaaaaaaa arghhh !!!

Correction, after additional tries I really do not know what happen.
But now I can share files, can be additional problem wthith sharing DLL ?
buffering ?
Before when share fail (share = 8 in all cases) Set
SuperBase.LocalFileLocking = -1 as no effect on Status share files.
now it's work...

Vista victims - Take a look at this article and associated links:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927387
My vista platform (notebook) along with a few other things disappeared
recently due to an overnight burglary. They left me behind though.
Cheers, John

Sorry to hear about your loss. Not very kind of them.
Interesting article. Just when you thought they would have learned by
now.... I still curse every time I have to help some poor user and they
can't even find the files we are looking for because the default
explorer settings hide the file extensions.
