I was going to some testing on a home computer with Vista Home Basic
running.
I got some errors that threw up an empty dialog box just an exclamation
point, trying to open forms and tables. I gave up trying to catalogue,
but my question is should there be any reason to get different kinds of
errors running on Vista Home Basice (which is the 32bit version) as

None that I am aware of. It may be something between wxWidgets and
Vista, but as far as I understand it, wxWidgets was well tested on
Vista. It may have something of the security nature to it, if Vista is
being a pain about how we open database tables, but I couldn't imagine
why there would be a problem at this point.

I don't know what that means "Vista doesn't like programs using that as
a Read/Write area."
Do you mean this:
User Accounts in Windows Vista
Windows Vista categorizes every user into two user account types:
administrators and standard users.
A standard user account is similar to a limited-user account in Windows
XP. Like in Windows XP, a standard user cannot write to the Program
Files folder, cannot write to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE portion of the
registry, and cannot perform tasks that alter the system, such as
installing a kernel-mode driver or accessing system-level process spaces.

Try installing it outside of the "C:\Program Files" area. Vista
doesn't
like programs using that as a Read/Write area.
Try creating a "C:\Programs\" folder and install it to there.
