I'm trying to use AppTestLite to test my app, I install it, copy my
SIS to the \SymbianSigned directory as instructed. Then when I run the
tool it gets as far as Step 3 "Please wait while your application is
being ssntalled", but then the app just exits with no error or
indication what's wrong.
Any ideas what's up? Tried it on a 6630, 6680 and N90 so far, same
problem on all of them.

No ideas. You may need to send your app to symbiansigned@symbian.com to get
it further tested.

Seems it was just not having a publisher certificate installed. I
would have thought it would make sense to let people start testing the
Symbian signed criteria before they've got their certificate, or at
least report that that's what the problem is.

On v9 you can't run applications requiring capabilities without them being
signed using a developer certificate or symbiansigned.
Or do I misunderstand the problem?

I was testing on V8 not V9, so I guess you do misunderstand the
problem.
