Thinking back over all the product releases (and near releases, with the Windows
Vista consumer launch right around the corner) that happened this year, what
gets your vote for the most significant development of the year? (Feel free to
add items, too--there were so many I'm sure I missed some big ones.) And, while
we're at it, if you have a tech prediction 2007, post it here.

I am choosing Live writer and IE7 as a good products in 2006.
2007 predictions...
I am expecting a good comeback in Live search, killer firmware upgrade in Zune
2.0, MS almost gave up search market and not concentrating on where the money
is...To me Zune and Live search are not one of the product in MS product line
up. they both are core products like windows OS. When MS going to realise this?

I have to say IE7 as I don't count beta programs as official releases (even
though Windows Vista was RTM'd). From my point of view, when reading Security
Bulletins or vulnerability reports where IE7 is not affected is a win for
Microsoft and, more particularly, for the users.

I have to say Office 2007...the differences and usability between 2007 and the
previous editions are far and drastic. I just think Vista, although a great and
significantly improved OS to XP, is not as dramatic when compared to Office.
