Here's a link to a short video of Clive Izard, British Library Head of Creative
Services, explaining how Windows Vista enabled them to make Leonardo da Vinci's
notebooks available online in a new, media-rich format. If you are using Windows
Vista Ultimate Premium you can see both notebooks online; if you're using
Windows XP SP2, you can use the Shockwave player to view the first notebook with
the previous version of Turning Pages.
And here's a link to an article about the digitization of the 500-year-old
notebooks on Seattlepi.com. Apparently BillG bought one of the two da Vinci
notebooks back in 1994 for $30.8 million. I especially like this quote:
"Gates also recalled what happened when he told his wife, Melinda, that he
was planning to buy the notebook: "She didn't think that was a very big
deal. I said, 'No, this is a pretty special notebook.' "

it would be nice if $30.8 million wasn't a big deal...

NOW THAT'S THE VISTA I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Why the shout?
'Cause that's the way I shouted out loud when I followed the link and first saw
the pages.
Is Vist sweet or what?
Edit: I'm still going through the Codex Gates Leicester
