What you are really looking for is a Unit Test runner that can support NUnit.
It's my general opinion that the NUnit test runner, is not that great. I like
NUnit, but the GUI runner isn't amazing. We've had a lot of issues with it
freezing, etc.

I've always been a fan of the one built into Resharper.. Resharper is a bit
pricy, but it is an amazing tool. Another popular one is called TestDriven... it
use to be free, but the changed that as well.

Is there no open source tool available yet for this purpose?

Hi,

Based on the information and explanation above, I believe that the best answer
to this question is to contact http://www.nunit.org.

I hope this helps.
