| IE 6 .png transparency check |
 |

All, it seems my standalones aren't rendering png transparency with the MS
workaround, and this is on sites that I was sure I had checked earlier. So
for those who are running full versions of IE 6, can you please check and
see if the transparent .pngs are working here:

The quotation at the top and the address info etc at bottom right should
have dark png transparency; the main text area has white.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks a bunch.
Now I'm wondering if my other ones work, after all. :(

I was aware that IE7 works fine with png, as should non-IE browsers. IE 6
and earlier were the only ones that didn't support png natively for years.
Can you check again?

With this method, I've given up on the main area background (I would have
had to make the png awfully tall to account for however long any page on the
site might get). So for IE 6 (the method doesn't work lower than 5.5, so for
simplicity's sake, I just fed all 5+ a solid colour all around), I settled
for png backgrounds in the header and on the address. Hopefully, it's
working for you.
Unfortunately, my supposed IE6 standalone still doesn't seem to work right;
I know the above worked on 5.5 until I altered the ie5 CSS. (If anyone's
aware of a standalone version out there that's better than the one marked as
"Eolas," please let me know.) So I'm still uncertain on whether I've
got
this nailed yet.
Thanks again.
