Easy Question - <Application Server>.state

Hello everybody,

I have a question. I have a mess of httpd servers and WebLogic application
servers that need to be monitored in the Sun Management Center. We've talking a
decade of installations, upgrades, and migrations where nothing was ever cleaned
up.

For this Sun MC I am looking for a status file for each WLS application server
with a minimum of overhead and fuss.

I've seen that under each <Application Server> directory under
<data> there exists a text file called <Application Server>.state
with the format:

<STATE>:[Y|N]:[Y|N]

I can't find any documentation as to what this file is actually used for, though
I also will admit to having never finished reading the Bible either. My guess is
that <STATE> the current state of the application server, the first yes or
no is whether to automatically start on boot, and the second is whether to
automatically restart on failure.

Could someone clarify the use of the file for me? I would like to be able to use
it for Sun MC to determine whether there is a problem as one can do by clinking
the links in the Administrative Console under System Status.
