Below shows the snapshots of the stats at the conneciton pool during a test at
full load:

I doubt the database pool was stressed hard enough to cause any significant
performance drawback.
I noticed there are some extra waiting time for the first application to get the
response from the servlet of the second application, although the servlet's
(debugging) timer shows the operation is done for a while.
