A List Apart...

A List Apart...
Mon, 3 Apr 2006 06:45:01 -0700
I came across this website last night while looking for HTML Editor
comparisons.

http://www.alistapart.com/topics/

Of course it had nothing to do with what I was looking for in the first
place. I found the articles to be well written and understandable. That says
a lot if they were able to hold my attention! I do like the basic principles
of Code, Content, Culture and Design. Not too sure about User Science as
I've not made it that far on their site. I think the basic four is bang on,
and something we should all be considering as designers, whether current or
aspiring *s*

Thanks to A List Apart, I'm a little deeper into CSS (Cascading Style
Sheets) now than I ever thought I would be. Once you can get your head
around the theories I think it should be pretty easy going. I'm not quite
there - yet! Some article links to those I have read through so far:

http://www.alistapart.com/articles/outsidethegrid

http://www.alistapart.com/articles/holygrail

If you have a moment or two, or an hour to give to this site, check it out
and let me know how you feel about it. Does it bring up questions and/or
concerns about your own designing? Is there something in particular you
would like to tackle as far as a group project goes? Are there points you
would use in 'tweaking' your existing site?

Just a little food for thought for the day :o)

I'm off to w*rk shortly, and looking forward to getting back here and seeing
what we've come up with! Have a fabulous Monday everyone - make it count!

K.Dee :)

Both excellent articles KDee. And the first one is written by Molly
(www.molly.com), an old-time mentor of sorts. Great finds!
:o)

Thanks Abby! I'll be doing some reading on Molly's site too when things
settle down here a bit :o) I have heard wonderful things about her from a
few different places, so I'll definitely give her some serious time.
