Well, I'm sure by now, most of you have heard that I am leaving my active
role as Annexcafe Administrator to begin my medical studies at St. George's
University on Grenada (Caribbean, not Spain, and yup, that's where Special
Forces invaded back in the 80's). This is not an unexpected event, since
Medical School has been my goal since my first Newbie days, but Grenada was
a bit of a surprise.

What's this mean to Annexcafe? Hopefully not much in the way of changes.
Gregory still is the server owner, and still has final say in EVERYthing. I
will remain as Administrator, but will be turning over management of the
day-to-day activities to a carefully chosen Administrative team. The four
Assistant Administrators who make up this team will each have an area of
specialty, but all are being cross trained to step in for each other, and
will work as a team to keep Annexcafe running as you are used to having it.
Guidelines, Sysops, Chats and Newsgroups will all continue as always. The
Web portion of Annexcafe is increasing and offering more features, more
interfaces to chat and newsgroups and advertising for the entire community.

Pracken will be overseeing the Newsgroups. You can contact her at
AsstAdminNG@Annexcafe.com
Cee will be overseeing all Chat functions. You can contact her at
AsstAdminChat@Annexcafe.com
Li will be managing the web development and web pages. You can contact her
at AsstAdminWeb@Annexcafe.com
Peter, the Spider, will be coordination all three areas and acting for me on
the day-to-day matters and be your contact for general problems, Sysop
issues or matters that can't be resolved within a specific chat, board or
area. He can be contacted at AssistantAdmin@Annexcafe.com

To get all of us in one fell swoop, you can send to AdminTeam@Annexcafe.com

I am NOT leaving you. I will still be looking in regularly, and I invite
you to share my adventures at http://sgumd.blogspot.com/ (warning: do not
visit my blog if you are expecting the prim-mouthed Ishie who behaves
herself here at the Cafe <LOL>) But my focus and concentration for the
next
four years has to be my studies. The team has promised to try to keep
things with as little change as possible for all of you, and I know they
will. What I ask of you is that you welcome them with open arms and open
mind. Please don't create an "Ishie Standard" and expect them to live
by
it. I do things the Ishie way, not because it is necessarily the best way,
but because I am Ishie. There will be differences, and many of the
differences will be improvements. Some won't; some will be errors, but I
made plenty of them as I learned my way around and we all survived.
Annexcafe is my special love and has been a huge part of my life for years,
important formative years where I moved from teen to adult. You are all so
very important to me, both my online parents, friends, mentors and guides,
and OTOH, my only child, whom I have nurtured and loved. Eek!!! I'm
getting all mushy here, but I want you to know how important you have all
been to me and to know that I don't plan to just dump all of this when I
return to school.

My California departure date is December 11th, 12th or 13th (whenever I get
everything done). My last day at work is Thursday and I am doing yard sales
all weekend if I don't get rained out.) I will spend about a week driving
across country (I-80 mostly) and spending some quality mother-daughter time
during the trip. We will pick up my dad in North Carolina and head to
Louisiana for a last full family holiday with my aunt, uncle and cousins
there, and then back to North Carolina where I plan quality father-daughter
time, as well as visits with my best friend and other high school pals.

January 9th, I depart for Grenada (via Puerto Rico). My parents accompany
me as pack mules to triple my 100# luggage allowance. They will spend a
week vacationing while I register and do orientation stuff. January 16th is
the White Coat Ceremony, which marks the official beginning of our training
and after which classes start and visitors go home. I'll try to post
pictures on my blog.

So, I'm not saying "good-bye". You should know you can't get rid of
me that
easily. {{{}}} to each and everyone of you.

Ishie
