I Need Help with windowss live messager !!

I install 8.1 messager on my computer I`m having a problem with it . the 
problem that I`m having is when I get clicked on  names on my list to view 
the message history it`s  blocked out i  don`t why is do that I can`t view my 
Received Files nothing is nothing under that folder . what am I doing wrong . 
I need help n this I wanna save my chat sessions I can`t do that I tryed 
other versions still the same .. HELP .. HELP... 
if you can help me please write  me at tigerstar40@shaw.ca  I hope  there`s

Hi,

To add, you can turn it on by pressing the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up
the menu bar, 
click Tools, then Options, click the Messages category and then finally turn on
the history 
function (at the bottom).

I have turned message history on.. However not all my message hnistory has 
been saved.  Some of it has disappeared.  It was there but when I needed to 
go back to check something, it had gone.  What is happening?
