I have Windows XP and Msn Messenger and frequently use the Chat Line etc.
Now I have a Web Cam LifeCamVX-1000. I should like to carry on
communicating with my friend (who also has a Web Cam but he is deaf so
obviously we cannot use the Audio link but we would like to carry on sending
messages to one another and see one another etc How can we do that. Write
messages and watch one another with no speech.

Greetings,
It should continue to work. However, you will need to set up Messenger for the
new device.
To do so, press the Alt key on the keyboard in any Messenger window to bring up
the menu bar,
then choose Tools, and then Audio and Video setup.
After that, just go through the wizard and it should work. Also, if you want to
truly avoid
using audio /w video, you can bring up the menu bar again using Alt, choose
Actions, then
Video, and then 'Share my webcam' (your contact will have to do the same
thing).
