| Install Windows Live Messenger Fails |

I've read the posts, and can't find a similar problem. I uninstalled WLM via
Control panel. Am trying to reinstall. Here's what happens:
I click Download on WLM 8.1. Select Run. Finishes. Opens the Windows Live
home page. When I try to open Messenger from there, it routes me back to the
"install it for free" page. I click install..... the loop starts all
over
again.
Any ideas?
Oh, and if I try to install Windows Messenger 5.1, it also fails and gives
me errors.
