According to WP's built-in Help (F1 key):
1 Click Tools Settings.
2 Click Application bar.
3 On the application bar, drag an item to a new position.
· You can also move an item on the application bar by holding down Alt
and dragging the item to a new position.
This works for me: the order "sticks." If it does not for you, perhaps
updating WP11 with the latest service packs might help: See "What
version of WordPerfect do I have; what updates/patches are available?" at

I have a struggle trying to move the individual application bar items into a
logical sequence. I try to align them starting at the far left of the
screen. Nothing seems to allow me to make them stick. Working with WP for
years and this has always been a challenge. Any help here would be
appreciated.
